Don't Hold Your Breath about the Release of JFK Documents!

Conspiracy theorists are wetting their pants in anticipation of Trump's release of JFK documents. They are going to be sadly disappointed -- the 3,000 or so documents that still have redactions are not directly related to the JFK assassination. When these redactions are released, we might learn a little more about the Cold War, but there won't be any revelations about the assassination itself.

The real expert on JFK documents is Robert Reynolds and his new article on the documents is a must-read.

So, don't hold your breath:

Now wait a minute! What about all those “secret documents” withheld from the public, which have appeared again and again in news reports and on internet blogs? For the nth time: there aren’t any. Except for whole page redactions (now limited to only about 60 records), redactions hold back only words and phrases, names, places, and numbers.
