Did Oswald Stay at a Luxury Hotel in Helsinki?

Updated: 1 day ago

The KlausK Hotel in Finland

How on earth did Oswald stay at a luxury hotel?

Well, I can provide part of the answer, thanks to a Finnish correspondent.

The current Klaus Kurki hotel, while it has the same name, is a different hotel from the one that Oswald stayed in. Here is an English translation of an email from the hotel management:

Hotel Klaus K. wasn't opened until 2005, so unfortunately we are unable to answer your question. Klaus Kurki -hotel was a different hotel, though we still use an almost identical name to this very day. I hope you will find your answer somewhere else and be able to clarify this matter! Merry Christmastime, Kämp Collection Hotels."

So, the Klaus Kurki hotel in 1959 might not have been a luxury hotel, and that might be the same for the Hotel Torni.

In addition, the American dollar was strong in the late 1950s and I guess that Finnish hotels were not expensive. Helsinki was not a hot tourist destination at that time.

Both the Torni and the Klaus Kurki are listed in the "inexpensive" section.

The problem withe conspiracy theorists is that when they cannot explain something, they instantly reach for a conspiratorial conclusion. This is evident all through this article about Finland. If we cannot readily understand how Oswald entered Finland, then it must have been in connivance with the U.S. government.

Why was Oswald's luggage not inspected? Perhaps because they didn't inspect everybody's?

Sometimes the answers are mundane, and not conspiratorial.
